Decentralised system
A typical centralised boiler system distributes hot water from a single point. It heats it to higher temperatures (scale), continuously heating the water, which cools in the pipes, causing huge energy and money losses.
A much better decentralised system has a water heater at the point of discharge (sink, shower, basin). The water does not cool in the pipes, there is no need for constant heating of the water and no limescale build-up.
* If a failure occurs, the remaining hot water points are still available.
Instantaneous water heaters are devices for heating water in real time. They only heat the water when it is opened. The cold water is heated to the desired temperature as it flows through the device. Instantaneous water heaters can provide hot water indefinitely.
In contrast, conventional boilers store only a limited amount of water, usually hot water, which is constantly heated, causing unnecessary energy loss and, at the same time, forming limescale due to the higher temperature in the system.
A decentralised hot water system requires a water heater at each outlet where hot water is desired, but the combined cost of all the heaters is competitive or usually lower than a central water storage tank (boiler).
In addition, a decentralised system offers huge savings on installations (one-pipe system), does not need perishable edges such as circulation pumps, expansion tanks, etc. Not to mention the energy savings.
Decentralised water heaters also have lower energy and maintenance costs than heat pumps. Around the world, hot water production is increasingly being provided by more economical instantaneous water heaters.
Centralised systems heat the water in the storage tank (boiler) and pipes all the time, as energy is lost through the walls, whether they run on a heat pump or on even more expensive fossil fuels.
Limescale forms intensively above 40°C and grows exponentially as the temperature rises. Conventional boilers heat the water above 60°C to ensure that there is sufficient hot water reserve to mix with the cold water, while the higher temperature prevents legionella.
As a result, limescale forms, causing damage to the boiler, plumbing, fittings and machinery. With instantaneous water heaters, all this is avoided. Not to mention that they give you a practical thermostatic fitting (tap) and enormous energy savings.
*flow-through water heaters ensure greater hygiene
Electricity is becoming greener. The share of renewable energy sources is constantly increasing. Use renewable energy sources to supply hot water instead of limited fossil sources!
Furthermore, electric water heating systems also vary in efficiency and wastefulness. Flow-through water heaters have been proven to be by far the least wasteful, as they only use energy when the water is turned on.
